Are you a writer who wants to hone your storytelling abilities?

Then you may benefit from a couple of workshops at The Studios of Key West.

Here’s what’s coming:

Crafting (and Selling) Your Narrative Non-Fiction Book Memoir — Have a memoir or narrative non-fiction book you’re burning to write? There’s a formula to selling that idea, and this two-hour workshop will teach you how. Publishers usually purchase a non-fiction work based on a proposal — this will give them a clear idea of the book that you’d like to write. This workshop will share the blueprint for these proposals — and walk you through the specifics of what goes into them. Come with an idea that you have and Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan, whose food memoir, “A Tiger in the Kitchen,” was an international bestseller, will show you how to turn that into a proposal. Writers of all levels welcome. It’s 4-6 p.m. Thursday, March 10.

Heaving Bosoms and Throbbing Manhoods: How to write love scenes that won’t make your readers cringe — In this 2-hour workshop, led by Hillary Jordan, PEN/Bellwether prize-winning author of “Mudbound” and co-editor of the erotic anthology “Anonymous Sex,” participants will look at some memorable, thrilling love scenes that transcend cliché and analyze what makes them work. Then, armed with those insights, you’ll take a stab at writing a love scene of your own (or revising one you’ve already written) and receive constructive notes from the group. Bring a fan, because things are liable to get hot. It’s 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 11.
