Solar Eclipse 2019: Travel to totality in Argentina

Witnessing a solar eclipse in totality is truly a rare and awe-inspiring experience. The 2019 solar eclipse will happen on July 2, 2019 and the line of totality will occur in a limited area through Chile and Argentina.

The TREE Institute is offering a once in a lifetime trip to experience totality in the Argentine slopes of the Andes, a micro-climate especially favourable for observing the eclipse.

All available evidence (satellite and ground level measurements) points to a location facing the eastern slopes of the Andes as the best location from which to witness the eclipse. In particular, the small villages of Bella Vista and Iglesia (north of Bella Vista) are on an open plain where satellite images promise the lowest average cloud amount anywhere along the trail. Bella Vista is located just 33 km from the large town of Rodeo and 80 km from San José de Jáchal. The two communities have good visibility toward the west.

The “Tango to Totality” adventure will not only feature private jet service from Buenos Aires to San Juan and a private ranch party to witness the event, but also an opportunity to stay in the Pampas area to experience the Old Argentina grasslands. Stay at a unique Europe-inspired castle and polo club with fun activities, including horseback riding, biking, wine tasting, an empanada cooking class and tango lessons. After the solar event, jet back to Buenos Aires for a private boat ride through the Delta, city sightseeing and a tango show. An optional trip to the Iguazu Falls can be added on.

The trip dates are June 30-July 6, 2019. The price is $3,999 per person, double occupancy. Space is limited. Call 866-355-8733 for more information or visit www.treeinstitute.org and look for “Tango to Totality” information on the home page. ¦
