The rules are simple: The work must be original and cannot exceed 10 inches in any direction.

Showcasing art that is imaginative, diminutive and completely unique, the Small Works Show, curated by Lemonade Stand Gallery, opens with a reception from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at The Studios of Key West. More than 170 works will be on view in the Sanger Gallery through April 25.

Originating in 2005, the Small Works Show is an artistic tradition in Key West that has grown into one of the most anticipated shows each season. This year, entries poured in from six countries — as far away as Turkey — and 39 states. The top entries include sculptures, paintings, drawings, photographs and even hand-made books.

With works spanning a wide range of price points, the show is a perfect opportunity for first-time art buyers as well as more seasoned collectors.

The Studios of Key West’s galleries are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday- Saturday. For more information about the galleries, visit www.tskw.org.

For the first time, Lemonade Stand Gallery will open the show for online viewing and purchases at www.lemonadestandgallery.com on April 5.
