Huey Lewis & the News headlines Keystock

“The Power of Love” is coming to Key West.

The Grammy-winning hit-makers Huey Lewis & the News rocked the country with that smash hit 30 years ago with the release of their album, “Fore!” The enduring band is coming to town on Saturday, April 2 to play Keystock Music Festival 2016.

That includes Mr. Lewis (lead vocals and harmonica), Johnny Colla (sax), Bill Gibson (drums), Sean Hopper (keyboards), Stef Burns (guitar) and John Pierce (bass).

The News was formed in San Francisco in 1979.

They’ve always recorded infectious songs such as

“I Want A New Drug,”

“Hip to Be Square,” and

“Workin’ For a Livin.’”

But it’s their live performances, which include the News’ long-time horn section, that really shine with a fusion of R&B, soul, and early rock ‘n’ roll. n
