Crooks annual Second Line

Begun in 2015 after Key West lost world class drummer Richard Crooks and now in its fifth year, the annual New Orleans second line send-off was attended by hundreds. Benefitting The Bahama Village Music Program, this free annual event celebrates the lives of those we have loved and lost. The rollicking parade danced and marched from Hog’s Breath Saloon up Duval Street to the Green Parrot, with performances along the route. Marchers toted hand-painted parasols and carried photo placards honoring the dearly departed. The parade ended at the Green Parrot with a brief memorial program and a jam led by Key West’s incomparable Bill Blue Band.
