Over the past year, things have changed.
Among those is the Anne McKee Fine Art Auction.
This year, it will be held online.
Up for bid will be original paintings, sculpture, photography, fiber arts, ceramics, mixed media, jewelry and more. Collectors can choose from the works of local masters to fresh new emerging talents.
Online viewing and bidding will begin at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 4 and close at 8:30 p.m. p.m. Feb. 17.
Art will be available for viewing in person starting Feb. 4 at The Studios of Key West, 533 Eaton St. Hours are noon-4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. All sales will be online. For viewing art, auction link and other information, check out www.mckeefund.org.
“Think of all the galleries, exhibition openings, artist talks that make our community so culturally rich. That only happens if together we support our art makers,” said Kalo Clarke, president of the board of directors of the Anne McKee Artists Fund.
Each participating artist receives 50% of proceeds from the sale of their work. The other 50% goes to fund grants for projects by local talent in the visual, performance, and literary arts. Founded by Key West art patron Anne McKee, the not-for-profit has awarded more than $330,000 to 400 artists since 1994. ¦
